Get ready to turn your wildlife watching into an exciting game with Africam’s SafariSnaps! Spot incredible animals on our live cameras, test your knowledge by tagging each species you see, and earn points as you go. The more accurate your sightings, the higher you climb on the leaderboard. Follow this simple step-by-step guide to start playing and see if you have what it takes to become one of our top snappers!

Step 1: Become a Subscriber
To join the SafariSnaps adventure, you need to be an Africam Premium Subscriber. Head to over to our Community Page and Start Your Free Trial Period to unlock access to SafariSnaps.

Step 2: Capture and Tag Your Snap
Tune in to Africam’s live streams and look out for amazing wildlife sightings. When you spot an animal, click the “SafariSnaps” icon to take your snap. 

Step 3: Tag Your Snap
Choose whether you’re tagging an animal or a bird, then tag your sighting correctly. Once you’ve captured it, click “Save” to add your snap to the SafariSnaps database. 

Step 4: Track Your Score on the Leaderboard
Every snap you tag earns you points, which are automatically updated on the SafariSnaps leaderboard. Each month features a new category, so even if you’re at the top now, the monthly winner may still be anyone who plays. Keep snapping and tagging to climb your way to the top!

SafariSnaps Guidelines

Monthly Themes: Each month features a category, announced in advance. There is only one winner per monthly category, so make sure to focus your snaps on the highlighted category, as every month brings a new opportunity to win!

Rarity Scores: Every animal has a rarity score based on how often they appear on the Africam’s. Rarer animals earn more points, giving you a better chance to climb the leaderboard!

Clear Sightings: Your snaps must show the animal clearly and fully in frame. Snaps that don’t meet this requirement will be removed from the game.

Timing of Snaps: Animals can only be tagged once per live sighting. Multiple snaps of the same animal during the same sighting will not count.

Winner Announcement and Prizes: The monthly category winner will be announced at the start of the following month. Winners will receive a shoutout on Africam’s social media as well as an exclusive prize!
