About the organization

Welcome to Birdlife South Africa

Nestled in the charming coastal town of Betty’s Bay in the Overberg, the Stony Point Nature Reserve hosts a remarkable colony of African Penguins. This reserve provides visitors with the opportunity to observe these delightful flightless birds up close. A boardwalk meanders through the colony, allowing the public to watch the penguins as they engage in their daily routines within their natural habitat, all while ensuring they remain undisturbed.
