How To Enter Africam’s Monthly Photo Competition

Welcome to Africam’s Virtual Wildlife Photography Competition 2026!

Each month, we invite subscribers to celebrate the beauty of the wild through the Africam lens. Whether you’ve captured a breathtaking moment of animal behaviour or a serene landscape scene, this is your opportunity to showcase your creativity and share your favourite Africam images with our global community.

This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to enter – simple steps, helpful tips, and all the details that will give your photo its best shot at winning. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Become a Subscriber

To enter the competition, you’ll need to be an Africam Premium Subscriber. Simply Start Your Free Trial Period on our Community Page to unlock access to all live wildlife streams, and start capturing the incredible moments that make this contest so special.

Step 2: Capture Stunning Wildlife Moments

Once subscribed, tune into Africam’s live streams and photograph captivating wildlife scenes, sweeping landscapes, and standout moments that fit the monthly theme. Use the “Photo” button to snap your chosen shot directly from the livestream.

Step 3: Save and Title Your Photo

After taking your photo, give it a clear description using the following format: Photo Competition – photo title. When you’re done, select “Save.” This ensures we can quickly identify your competition entries and their titles.

Competition Guidelines to Keep in Mind

• Monthly Themes: Each month features a unique theme – such as sunrises, mammals, or wildlife interactions. The new theme is announced on the last day of the previous month, giving you time to focus your photography for the month ahead.
• Current Photos Only: Only photos captured within the competition month are eligible. Make sure your entry reflects the current theme and is taken during that month’s viewing period.
• Submission Deadline: Entries close at midnight (SAST) on the last day of each month. Be sure to submit your photo before the deadline to be included in that month’s voting.

Judging Criteria

Africam Premium Subscribers will vote for the winning image each month. When voting, the community will consider:

• Creativity
• Composition
• Image quality
• The theme 

These criteria help guide voters – and give you a clear idea of what makes an entry stand out.

Winner Announcement & Prizes

Each month’s winner will be announced on the 3rd of the following month. The winning photographer will receive:

• A special-edition Africam mug featuring their winning photo
• Recognition across Africam’s social media channels
• A feature and write-up on Africam’s official blog
