Congratulations to this Months Winner!

Our monthly photo competition is still going strong, and August’s theme, “Animals Together,” beautifully highlighted the sense of community that Africa and its remarkable wildlife inspire. We received some truly outstanding entries, but we’re thrilled to announce that this month’s winner is Katelyn Colgrove, who captured a stunning moment of a lion family pausing for a drink at Lentorre. This marks Katelyn’s second win of the year, and we can’t wait to see if she’ll make it a hat trick!

Why This Photo Stood Out

This month’s winning photo is a beautiful interpretation of the theme “Animals Together.” Captured just before dawn, it shows a lioness and her cubs gathered at a waterhole, pausing for a drink before she leads them back into the bush. The composition is striking, with the symmetry of the lions lined up side by side, their reflections shimmering in the water, and the sharp detail of their focused faces all drawing the viewer in. Beyond its technical brilliance, the image tells a powerful story of family, care, and togetherness in the wild – an intimate glimpse into the bonds that make a pride strong.
