Congratulations to this Months Winner!

We are delighted to announce the winner of September’s photo competition, where the theme was “Singles”. After careful consideration of all the incredible entries, the winning shot is titled “Can I help you?”, captured by Christy at Elephant Pan. 

Why This Photo Stood Out

At first glance, this photograph captures the curious face of a small gecko peeking out from the hollow of a weathered tree trunk. Its large, reflective eyes immediately draw the viewer in, giving the impression that it is engaging directly with us – almost as though it really is asking, “Can I help you?” The isolation of this single subject is beautifully emphasized by the dark background of the hollow, allowing the gecko to stand out sharply against the textured wood.

This photo also suits the theme of “Singles” perfectly. The competition challenged photographers to capture the power of a single subject, and here the gecko holds the entire frame with ease. Its solitary presence creates a moment of intimacy, curiosity, and charm, reminding us that even the smallest of creatures can have a commanding presence.
