Congratulations to this Months Winner!

The Africam Virtual Wildlife Photography Competition continues to show off the incredible sightings on the Africam cameras, and May’s theme, “Mammals,” brought in a wide variety of submissions. We are thrilled to announce that the winner of May’s competition is Leslie Knechtel, who captured a curious young leopard right below the camera at Serondella. 

Why This Photo Stood Out

This photograph, titled “Big Brother is Always Watching,” stole the show due to its unique overhead perspective, which offers an unusual and intimate view of the young leopard. The black-and-white style highlights the contrast between the leopard’s spots and the rough ground, while the bold shadow adds depth to the image. The leopard’s direct gaze into the camera creates a powerful emotional connection, reinforcing the sense of awareness and tension. Together, these elements create a visually compelling image that feels both artful and thought-provoking.
