Africam’s Virtual Wildlife Photography Competition: June 2026 Winner!

Congratulations to this Month’s Winner! 

June’s Photo Competition invited the Africam community to celebrate one of the most meaningful aspects of life in the wild – Wildlife Families. From protective parents and playful youngsters to the powerful bonds shared between siblings and extended herds, photographers were challenged to capture the relationships that lie at the heart of Africa’s wildlife.

We’re delighted to announce that Marijke is our June winner with the beautiful image titled Measure Each Other, captured at ol Donyo. The photograph perfectly reflects the theme, showcasing a touching interaction between members of an elephant bachelor herd as they gently face one another, almost as if comparing their impressive tusks. More than just a striking portrait, the image highlights the close social bonds and lifelong connections that make elephants one of Africa’s most iconic and emotionally captivating species. The calm composition, beautiful symmetry, and subtle interaction between the elephants made this a truly deserving winning photograph.
